Blonde Goblin Biography

Blonde Goblin was formed in late 2008 following the dissolution of Pressure Drop, a power trio consisting of Hollywood Phil, Loren Kofsky and former Rock City Angels bassist/vocalist Andy Panik. Following the band’s break up, Phil and Loren decided that they wanted to continue playing together and Phil suggested bringing in Taylor Wichmanowski, a singer-songwriter that had occasionally subbed as a bassist in a few of Phil’s myriad projects over the years.

Although they began playing mostly covers and a few of their respective originals, it didn’t take long before they were writing new material as a group and planning to record. The fruit of those early collaborations was “Worlds to Burn”, their self produced debut LP recorded during 2009 and released in July of 2010. An early mix of the track “Monster Show” from the album was featured in “The Darkling”, an independent film directed by Adam Hodge.

Based just steps from iconic Sunset Boulevard in Hollywood, Blonde Goblin regularly performs on stages throughout Southern California including The Viper Room, The Key Club, The Cat Club, Bordello, and many other popular concert venues throughout the region.

Blonde Goblin is happy to have had the opportunity to play many benefit shows for deserving charities. Another notable gig was the 2010 Rock N’ America Festival held in Oklahoma City. Blonde Goblin was invited to play at the three day outdoor festival alongside such legendary acts as Cinderella, RATT, Twisted Sister, and Scorpions.

Hollywood Phil

Hollywood Phil of Blonde Goblin Hollywood Phil is the guitarist for Blonde Goblin.

Born in a time when cock rock ruled the Sunset strip, Hollywood Phil, simply known as “HP,” has dedicated himself to maintaining his musical integrity.

Fads come and go, but HP sticks to what he knows best – good old rock and roll. “Forget the frills! I want the thrills that give me the chills!”

At a tender age, HP was inspired by a late night screening of, “A Hard Day’s Night,” and said to himself, “I wanna do that, only in color.” Just a few years later, he heard rock & roll personified & perfected when he obtained his first copy of Zeppelin II. “To hell with the Rickenbacker, gimme a Les Paul!” … and the rest is history.

In between rehearsing, gigging, and recording, one might find HP haunting the catacombs of the Guitar Center in Hollywood, most specifically the Vintage Room where he sits for hours on end admiring the “painted ladies” on the wall. “That Fiesta Red gets me all hot & bothered.”

A veteran of countless Hollywood outfits, HP sums up his experience with Blonde Goblin thus far, “This is the best band I’ve played in. Period.”
